How to set up GTM tags
We set up GTM tags to send conversion data to the ad platforms. Every ad platform is unique. This page will walk you through how to implement conversion tags in GTM for the most common ad platforms.
Google Ads
A conversion must be created in the platform by a performance team member. Conversion ID and Label info to be submitted here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xt-WSHgBmaToJokhjnz6vayXjMAc1fy68QqAF3vJBCY/edit#gid=0
GTM Requirements:
- Conversion created in GAds
- Conversion ID
- Conversion Label
Example: Create a Google Ads conversion tag to fire on all FAQ pageviews

Navigate to Tags

Click New
- Select a Google Ads Conversion Tracking tag
- Populate all required fields
*At a minimum, conversion ID and label
- Select the correct trigger
*If your trigger is not available, you will need to create one
- Name your tag and Save
Meta Ads
GTM Requirements:
- Pixel ID
- Event name
Example: Create a Meta Ads conversion tag to fire on all purchases under the event name "purchase"

- Select a Facebook Pixel tag
- Populate all required fields
*At a minimum, conversion ID and label
- Select the correct trigger
*If your trigger is not available, you will need to create one
- Name your tag and Save
